MARCH’S Christmas tree arrived yesterday as final preparations for this year’s lights switch-on edged closer.
The 39ft tree - chosen by Christmas Lights Committee members Sue Beer and Les Powell - arrived in March at about 10.30am and was standing proudly on the market place within an hour.
March resident Steve Gaskin, who was passing by when the tree arrived, took this photograph of the tree being moved from the flatbed lorry and into position.
The lights are switched on next Friday (November 26) with a variety of entertainment planned in the town centre.
