March teenager catches his largest pike in Fenland drain
PUBLISHED: 15:42 15 October 2010
A MARCH teenager caught his biggest fish this week, only to catch a larger pike two hours later.
Matty Cox, 16, went fishing in a Fenland drain within the March area, on Tuesday morning, October 12, when he caught a 19lb pike, his heaviest so far.
But he couldn’t believe his luck when he landed a larger pike, weighing six pounds more, later in the day.
Both fish were caught on a lure by Matty, who has been fishing for seven years, and were thrown back into the river after they were weighed.
