A woman has been taken to hospital after suffering an electric shock whilst trying to jump start a car.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) received a call at just after 10am today to an address in Coronation Close in March.

An ambulance crew and ambulance officer attended the scene to treat a woman in her 30s who had received an electric shock from a car battery and was feeling unwell and suffering pain in one of her arms.

The patient was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
