March Woodland Group held their annual open evening at Gault Wood on Tuesday.

Joan Munns, treasurer, said: “It was a perfect evening and the group had a delightful walk around the wood looking at the flowers, trees and fungi.

“It was very good to see that the wild honey bees had returned to their previous home that had been empty for most of the year.

“The group enjoyed tea, coffee or orange squash after the walk and were pleased to meet the donkeys from the donkey sanctuary with Liz Wright and Mick Knight.”

The next event at Gault wood takes place from 6.30pm on Tuesday August 8 when the annual Bug Hunt takes place. Families are welcome as well as unaccompanied adults.
