Karate kids of the future could emerge as part of a club which held its first session on Friday.
Mini Martial Arts saw 17 children, aged four to seven, at the George Campbell Leisure Centre, March, to learn a stance and punch.
The club is being run by Hadleigh Kirby, a tang so do instructor, along with his wife Linda, who does kick boxing. They were joined on Friday by Stuart Raven and Scott Hamilton, who train in tang so do.
Mrs Kirby said: "We have got a four-year-old son and found that he and his friends wanted to do martial arts, so we decided to start our own class."
The classes will teach children some of the basic martial arts skills, such as punches, kicks and blocks. It will also teach that it should only be used in self-defence and not in the playground.
Sessions will take place at the George Campbell Centre every Friday (6-6.30pm). Admission £2 a session.
