STEVE Tierney says that when it comes to their communities - local people know best. He insists that first and foremost a councillor must be a local champion. Not his own voice. Not the council’s voice. YOUR voice.

Steve’s priorities

• Better highway maintenance

• Safer roads

• Local public facilities

• Activities and services for young people

Steve successfully argued for a freeze in council tax this year to help struggling families during these difficult times. He believes that when times are hard councils must help shoulder the burden, not pass it on to the taxpayer!

An outspoken campaigner against more wind turbines that would blight our beautiful landscape, Steve thinks Fenland has already done more than its fair share and has quite enough of them.

Asked what he thinks the most important characteristics of a potential councillor are he said: “A good listening ear, a lot of hard work and to be accessible.”

Steve promises: “When you need me - I’ll be there.”
