THE opening and dedication of the newly re-furbished Methodist Church was held on Saturday afternoon. The service commenced outside, presided over by Rev Heather Walker with prayers of dedication, and the architect Mr Paul Hutchins presented the key of the church to the steward Mr Kenneth D Wilson who named the church Terrington St John Methodist Church and received the church to the Glory of God in the village and community. The service was led by Ms Walker. Lessons were read by Rev Harry Wood of Wisbech and Mrs Marie Hall of the parish church.The guest soloist was Mr Grahame Lindsay of Ipswich. The address of dedication was given by Rev Graham Thompson of Norwich. Various aspects of the church were dedicated with prayers read by Elaine Knight at the font, Veronica Nelson at the lectern, Tony Walker communion table, and Doreen Diggle organ. Mr Thompson presented Mr Lindsay with a local preachers certificate for 29 years' on the Wisbech Circuit before recently moving to Ipswich. Ms Walker thanked staff and residents of Burman House for accommodating the church for services for the past eight months and presented a cheque for the residents amenities fund to assistant manager Mrs Linda Painter. The organist was Mrs Pauline Beeken and stewards for the collection which amounted to £405 for church funds were Joan Cousins, Elaine Knight and Tony Walker. Floral arrangements were provided by Mrs Betty Jones.
