A HOLIDAY club celebrated the Olympics in style with an international theme.

St David’s Olympic Academy Holiday Club held a dress-up day on Thursday (August 2) with a Countries of the World and sports theme as part of a week long series of activities at Chatteris’ St Peter and Paul Parish Church.

The club, run by Chatteris Christians Together and the Chatteris Millennium Youth Worker Trust, looked after about 50 children from 9.45am to midday each day and gave them a chance to take part on cooking, craft, drama, songs, games and dance.

There were also quizzes, memory verses and bible times.

“Our bible theme has been David and Goliath and being fair minded, looking after ourselves, sense of team spirit and looking after out minds, all with a Christian theme,” organiser Sue Karwowski said.

The group was run by 15 adult volunteers and all of the children’s groups were led by teenage team leaders.
