An eight-week-old puppy that was suspected stolen from a house in Chatteris at the end of September has been found.
Delighted owner Alex Rayner posted on social media that the cocker spaniel, named Marley, had been found “near to his home”.
He was taken between 6pm and 10pm on September 27.
It was believed that thieves broke in via an unsecure bedroom window.
In the days after Marley went missing, Mr Rayner said that the pup would have been in “desperate need” of his medication for an infection.
The missing pet post was picked up by Facebook and shared more than 8,500 times across social media in a bid to reunite the pair.
Mr Rayner said Marley went missing between 6pm and 10pm in Chatteris on September 27.
“Some sick twisted scum has come into mine and my mother’s house and stolen our 8 week old puppy,” he posted to Facebook at the time.
“Marley needs to come home for treatment for his ear infections and skin condition and will be in pain without it.”
He pleaded: “Just bring out puppy home.”
Precisely what happened to Marley during his week ‘away’ is not clear. Mr Rayner has simply told Facebook supporters that Marley was home safe and well.
At one stage he offered a reward of up to £1,000 to find his missing pet.
