MALCOLM Moss, MP for North-East Cambridgeshire, backed a school's bid to achieve specialist status in English during a two-hour visit.
Mr Moss offered his support after a hour visit to Cromwell Community College, Chatteris.
"I hope the application for specialist school status with English as its core subjects, is successful," he said. "It will enable them to develop a centre of excellence and work not only within a family of named schools, but also in the wider community of Chatteris, to raise standards across the board for everyone.
"I was impressed with the senior management team and their vision for Cromwell Community College.
