PUB regulars have stripped off for a fund raising calendar to aid cancer charities.

Lydia Jevon, 45, who is the landlady at the Sportsman Pub in Chatteris and her 19-year-old son Ricky will attempt to raise 4,000 for the Children with Cancer Fund.

Pub regulars have shown their support for the duo by starring in a naked calendar and a range of other fund-raising events are planned,

Lydia said: “I’ve not done any exercise since I left school but I’ve joined the new Chatteris gym and have been going three times a week.

My son is more active and runs several times a week.”

Lydia is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to support Children for Cancer.

She said: “We lost a couple of regulars to cancer this year.

“We applied to run for both Cancer Research and Children with Cancer and are fortunate enough to be able to represent one of them.”

The naked calendar will be launched immanently and Lydia admits it is not like your conventional calendar.

She said: “The people who have taken part are regular drinkers at the pub, regular lads of all different shapes and sizes.

“Some are fit while others are older and a bit larger.”

The pub will be holding its Winter Wonderland evening on December 1 which will include a disco, raffles and much more.

Last month, 14 of the female regulars stayed awake for more than 24 hours to raise more than 1,000 with a ‘Non-Sleepover’ Challenge.

On January 20, the pub hope to create Chatteris’s longest ever ‘Penny Trail’.

Lydia said: “It will start at The Sportsman and we have estimated if we can reach The Honest John laying pennies end to end we would raise approximately 560.

“If we get as far as The George, we could raise 900.

“So we are urging people to save their pennies and either drop them in to us or come down on the day and see how far we can get.”

The calendar will be on sale at The Sportsman from December 1 for 7.50.
