Police have named the woman who died in a collision on the A47 last week as 97-year-old Phyllis Burton from Wingfield, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough.

She was killed when her red Daihatsu Charade collided with a silver Honda Jazz, police said.

The incident occured on the A47 at Bretton Gate, near to Peterborough City Hospital, at around 11am last Tuesday (October 13).

The driver of the Honda Jazz, a woman in her 40s from Werrington, remains in a critical condition in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

Anyone who may have seen the collision, or the cars in the moments leading up to it, is asked to contact the road policing unit on 101.
