Police are urging motorists to take care later today (Friday 31) as further rain could cause localised flooding.

There is expected to be significant rainfall between 2pm and 2am tomorrow (Saturday) morning, which is likely to lead to standing water on many roads.

We would urge anyone who must use the roads to drive to the conditions and at an appropriate speed.

In the event of flooding, we would also ask people to be aware of elderly or vulnerable relatives and neighbours who may need help and support.

The public are also advised to check the Environment Agency website and weather reports in the media or on the Met Office website.
