A group of opticians – including two Specsavers March – raised £1,015 for local charities FACET and Mind by taking on a sponsored trek up Mount Snowdon.
Gemma Ashby and Karin Pickles were among a team of colleagues from Specsavers stores across the East of England who put on their hiking boots.
The team completed the 1,085 metre climbing challenge on May 7, finishing their journey to the peak of the highest mountain in Wales in three-and-a-half hours.
All money raised will be donated to two charity groups, FACET and Mind. FACET provides day care and training to adults living with disabilities in the Fenland area, while Mind is a national charity providing advice and support to people suffering with mental health problems.
Mark Gurry, of Specsavers, said: “We had a brilliant day climbing up Mount Snowdon and were lucky enough to take in some stunning views along the way due to the fantastic weather, which is a rare event when you’re in the Welsh mountains.
“We would like to thank everyone who was able to help us raise more than £1,000 for two worthy causes.”
