NE CAMBS MP Steve Barclay pulled the first pint as Elgood’s Brewery welcomed more than 1,000 people to their beer festival this week.
More than 1,400 flocked to the Wisbech brewery for the three-day festival - sampling the wide range of award-winning beers. The sharp increase in visitors saw organisers dub the festival “the best yet”.
The event followed the success of Elgood’s new tipple ‘Warrior’ which won the prestigious title of ‘best bottled beer’ from the Society of Independent Brewers.
Mr Barclay said: “Elgood’s is a fantastic local business at the heart of our community in Wisbech. It was great to open their festival which has fast become a feature in the calendar.”
Belinda Sutton, Elgood’s managing director, said: “We were delighted that Steve could take time out of his busy schedule to help open the festival which has been our best yet.”
