Would-be MPs go toe-to-toe from 4pm today for the first local hustings of the 2015 election.

Candidates from all parties fighting for seats in this area are facing questions on topics as varied as animal welfare, broadband and immigration at the Fens Hustings hosted by the CLA.

The CLA, which is an organisation representing owners of land, property and businesses in rural England, is hosting the event at Elme Hall Hotel in Wisbech.

Panellists include: Steve Barclay, Conservative candidate seeking re-election in NE Cambs; Lucy Nethsingha, Lib Dem candidate for NE Cambs; Peter Smith, Labour candidate for SW Norfolk; Helen Scott-Daniels, Green Party candidate for NE Cambs, and Paul Smyth, UKIP candidate for SW Norfolk.

John Elworthy, editor of this newspaper, is chairing the gathering, which is following the format of BBC’s Question Time with each panellist given an opportunity to make a short personal introduction before facing questions from the audience.

Topics will come in no particular order and will also include the Hunting Act and devolution of power to local people.
