Mr Barclay invited the minister to join him on the visit to Must Farm where Cambridge Archaeological Unit have unearthed two or three wooden huts and artefacts dating back to the Bronze Age.
Historic England have described the find as an ‘extraordinary time capsule of the period life of our prehistoric ancestors.
Mr Barclay said: “It was a pleasure to bring the Minister to Must Farm, to view for himself the fantastic finds in Whittlesey. It is an amazing historic discovery and I am very proud to have the greatest Bronze Age discovery in Europe in our constituency. It is not every day you get to see a house that is 3,000 years old!”
