Fenland Running Club hosted their 30th FEN10 on Sunday and continued their record of providing a superbly organised and marshalled race with fantastic cakes at the end!

Renowned as a flat, fast 10 mile road race with expectations for a PB (Personal Best) if the wind stays away, the race attracted 195 finishers from 35 running clubs from far and wide and benefited from chip-timing for the first time.

First man home was Steve Robinson from Peterborough AC in a time of 0:54:30 followed by local runner Matt Pyatt from Ryston Runners and there were 14 runners under the magical 60 minutes barrier.

First lady home was Tamara Jarden from Stowmarket Striders in a time of 1:02:48. For Fenland RC, who fielded 24 runners, the first male was Andrew Plume and first lady was Maire Irlam. Irlam, Trevor Sutherill and Ian Milburn were 1st in the LV50, MV65 and MV70 age categories respectively, with a new PB for long time member Sarah Gauvin.

The club said they would like to thank main sponsors Green Thumb and other sponsors Shapers Gym, Elmfield Clinic, Alishan, The King of Hearts, Univeg and Dawbarn for their financial support for the event and the Army Cadet Force for additional marshals and March AC for manning a water station.
