ALEX Miscandlon's protest against plans for a neighbouring firm's expansion to create an extra 37 jobs fell on deaf ears when the application was approved by Fenland District Council's planning committee.
A new storage building will be built at PG Packaging, in Wisbech Road, Coates, but can be operational only between 7am-11pm.
Mr Miscandlon, whose house is next door, had said the site had become too overdeveloped, an opinion shared by Whittlesey Town Council.
But the committee agreed with planning officer Christopher Peckett, who said the extra jobs would "assist the rural economy and strengthen the existing status of this business".
