A NEIGHBOURS dispute that broke out over the death of a cat ended with two people being bound over to keep the peace this week.
The cat had died while the Morgan family were looking after it when the Sherlock family were away on holiday.
"The Sherlocks blamed the Morgans," solicitor Michael Ruck told Fenland magistrates on Wednesday.
On July 18 last year, the two families who live in Pond Close, Wimblington, exchanged words.
There had been an allegation that 19-year-old Jason Morgan had assaulted Frederick and Patricia Sherlock, and that 38-year-old Rosina Morgan had assaulted Patricia Sherlock.
The Morgans had denied the charges, but those proceedings were dropped this week when they agreed to be bound over for a year in the sum of £500 each.
"We have spoken to other neighbours who say it is six of one and half a dozen of the other," said prosecutor Nicola Ebbs.
The court was told that both families were planning to move from the neighbourhood.
