SHOPLIFTING to get cash for heroin landed Luke Elfleet back in jail this week, after admitting that he stole a £22 aftershave from Boots in Wisbech
Elfleet regularly went into the shop to pick up a prescription, but was banned from buying anything, but he picked up the aftershave on Monday morning and walked out with it.
Twenty-one-year-old Elfleet, who is homeless, admitted the theft and asked for a theft of a £100 camcorder for the Catalogue Shop in Wisbech to be taken into consideration.
The thefts put him in breach of a two-month suspended sentence.
"It was almost as if he wanted to be caught," solicitor Roger Glazebrook told Fenland magistrates on Tuesday. "He told police it will give him a chance to get off drugs."
The court jailed Elfleet for a total of four months.
