THOMAS Clarkson Academy students from the Waterlees area of Wisbech have been trying out a new pilot bus service this week.

The route starts at the Black Bear, Walsoken, and picks up students at shops on Ollard Avenue, St Michael’s Road and Bath Road, before going on to the academy.

Allison Baverstock, director of resources at the Thomas Clarkson Academy, said: “The new bus service is proving to be very popular.

“The aim is to support students in accessing the academy safely, improve attendance and punctuality and therefore increase the outcomes for the young people of Wisbech.

“We are working hard to give more families access to this service.”
