FENLAND District Council has a new chairman and vice-chairman.

Councillors Ken Mayor and Carol Cox were unanimously elected at the council’s annual meeting last Thursday and will hold the posts for the next two years.

Councillor Mayor, the vice-chairman for the past two years, said: “Looking at all the photographs of previous chairmen around this room, I never imagined that one day I would follow in their footsteps.”

Outgoing chairman Councillor Michael Humphrey thanked all the Members and council officers for their support during his tenure.

He said: “The two years have flown past. It has been an honour to serve the authority and I’ve really enjoyed it.”
