New charity furniture shop opens in March after donations escalate

THE RSPCA have opened a new furniture shop in March to cope with the huge number of generous public donations.
In the past staff had been forced to turn away donations of furniture as their existing shop was too small.
But their second store, which opened last week on the High Street, now boasts a vast array of household items including chairs, sofas and lamps.
Sue Satchwell, Senior Shop Manager, said: “I put a business plan together and talked to the trustees and within 13 days we were open with masses and masses of stock.
“There has been a wonderful response already with items selling really well. We would like to thank everyone for their support and all our volunteers for helping us get the new store ready.
“In the current climate so many more animals are being abandoned so we need every penny to help them.”
The RSPCA are available to pick up furniture donations and they also do house clearances.
They have been raising money from charity shops based in March for more than ten years.
