New head can’t wait to get stuck in at Fenland school
She has already proved to be a big hit with the pupils. Year 3 pupil Skye Sands said: “She’s really nice. She came round to introduce herself to every class on her first day and told us a little bit about herself and where she’d worked before. We’re all really excited about some of the thins she’s going to do.”
Mrs Tomlins worked as deputy head at Winyates Primary School in Orton Goldhay and before that at Southfields Junior School in Stanground.
Mrs Tomlins said: “This is a great village school delivering good results across the spectrum and full of enthusiastic children, staff, governors and parents.
“I have been particularly impressed with the pre-school we have here, and am very pleased that we are now extending the opening hours to allow more local children to take advantage of the wonderful facilities we have.
“I’m very excited about what the future holds for Coates Primary and by building on past successes we can all aim for new excellence. I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
