Susan Dobbs will take over as headteacher of Burrowmoor Primary School, March from September.

Ms Dobbs, who was appointed to the role by the Active Learning Trust, trained as an Ofsted inspector and has many years of experience in senior leadership and school improvement.

She currently holds a headship at Milton Road Primary, Cambridge and was from 2013 - 2015 a lead partner in the National Support Programme, with responsibility for the improvement of over 60 schools.

She has also held the position of chairman of the Building Schools for the Future Stakeholder Board.

Ms Dobbs said: “I am delighted and very much looking forward to working with Burrowmoor School on their journey to excellence, as well as joining the Active Learning Trust and sharing expertise and good practice.

“I am looking forward to working collaboratively with the team and I am excited about the future of Burrowmoor Primary and what we will achieve together.”

Until September, Burrowmoor Primary will continue to be led by Jason Wing and Anne McCarthy, who are executive head and interim head respectively.

Mr Wing and Mrs McCarthy received praise in a highly positive Ofsted report.
