ST JOHN'S Church, March will welcome their new priest-in-charge at the beginning of next month.The Rev Stephen Taylor will be the first new Anglican priest appointed in the town for 12 years.He was born in Islington and started his schooling there. He later moved to Hendon where he spent the rest of his school years. He gained a degree in industrial chemical engineering at the City of London University, and taught chemistry in school for some years, becoming head of department. He undertook training for ordination and was ordained deacon in 1998 to a curacy in Enfield, London and was chaplain of the school where he was teaching.In 2003 he retired from teaching and became a stipendiary priest both in the chaplaincy as well as the post of Associate Vicar in the Parish of Hornsey, London.He will be licensed at St John's Church on Monday, March 6.
