A NEW standard for the Royal British Legion Women's Section, Cambridgeshire County, was dedicated at a special service.

The standard, to commemorate the organisation's 60th anniversary, was officially dedicated at St Peter's Church, March.

Debbie Williams, of Doddington, deputy county standard bearer, carried the old standard in a parade of standards through he town to the church.

It was then taken into church for a service conducted by the Rev Anthony Chandler, assisted by county padre, the Rev Pam Bayliss.

The service included the laying up of the old standard and the dedication of the new. Afterwards the congregation moved to the Market Place where the salute was taken by Cambridgeshire's Lord Lieutenant, Hugh Duberly. Also attending were Deputy Lord Lieutenant Freddie Grounds, and mayor of March Councillor Jan French. March Army Cadets also took part in the parade.
