Guests salivated over sweets from their childhood and tucked into delicious home made cakes at a tea party which raised more than £350 for Marie Curie Nurses.
The Blooming Great Tea Party, which was organised by Fenland Councillor Sam Clark. took place at Newton Town Hall.
Grandma’s Tuck Shop sold a nostalgic selection of sweets and MP Steve Barclay popped by to give his support to the cause.
The money raised will help Marie Curie Nurses provide more free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes.
Cllr Clark said: “We had a fantastic time at our Blooming Great Tea Party while raising funds for Marie Curie.
“It was a great day with so many people attending and an extraordinary selection of homemade cakes and we had a lovely day with friends new and old.
“All the money we raised will help Marie Curie Nurses provide more free care to terminally ill people in the Fenland area, as well as vital emotional support for their families.”
Cllr Clark’s tea party was one of many that took place across the country last week as part of Marie Curie’s Blooming Great Tea Party campaign.
