One thousand ducks were sold helping the mayor, Councillor Alex Miscandlon, raise money for three chosen charities.

The charities that will benefit from the fundraiser are: Nogain Nopain UK, Whittlesey Warriors netball team and Whittlesey Manor Dolphins swimming club.

“At 2pm the ducks were released from Briggate Bridge into the river and with a helping blast from the firemen’s hoses, were coaxed down stream, through canal turn to the waiting judges at the finishing boat,” said Cllr Miscandlon.
