A total of 386 dog attacks have been reported in Cambridgeshire in the past five years, a Freedom Of Information request has revealed.

This compares to 266 in Norfolk, 576 in Bedfordshire, 612 in Suffolk, 694 in Hertfordshire, 1,122 in Essex and 1,777 in Thames Valley.

The number of prosecutions under the Dangerous Dogs Act has hit its highest level in five years in the East of England, with 1,216 offences recorded in 2014.
