ADA BARKER ADA Eugene Barker, 101, has died at The Gables nursing home, Chatteris. She was born in Chatteris, raised by her grandmother and spent most of her life in the town, apart from time in service at Balham. She also worked at Park House, Chatteris

ADA BARKERADA Eugene Barker, 101, has died at The Gables nursing home, Chatteris.She was born in Chatteris, raised by her grandmother and spent most of her life in the town, apart from time in service at Balham. She also worked at Park House, Chatteris. In 1929, she met and married Leonard Barker. They had been married for more than 60 when he died.Ada was a member of the Mother's Union, Royal British Legion, Women's Institute and Home League. She attended King Edward Day Centre and was a member of the Good Companions choir. She worshipped at the Salvation Army.She leaves a son David, daughter Margaret Corney, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service took place at the Chatteris Salvation Army Fortress, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
