Glennis Irene Wright, aged 61, died peacefully in Hinchingbrooke Hospital on Sunday, September 10. Glennis, of 6 Festival Homes, Westwood Avenue, March, had been in poor health for some months and was taken into hospital on the Tuesday before she died.

Glennis lived with parents Madge and Ernie Wright in Nene Parade for most of her life, only moving to Festival Homes in 2004. Her father died in 2000, her mother last year. When she was younger, Glennis regularly attended at Station Road Methodist Church. She was a talented needlewoman and won prizes for her embroidery. She also knitted baby shawls and crocheted beautiful blankets.

Glennis lost her right leg in an accident on Station Road in 1959 when she was only 14 years old. For many years she worked at Pike's textile samples on March High Street.

Family mourners were Carol and Michael Dixon, Iestyn and Sara Dixon, Joanne Dixon, Mrs Elsie Furbank, Linda and David Sutterby, Brenda Foster and Steve Willis, Mrs Doris Brown, Eileen Casson, Cecily Woods, Margaret and Terry Fermedo, David Williamson and Marilyn Jackson. Friends joined them at the church.
