YEAR ten students at Wisbech Grammar School plunged into the world of commodity trading at an enterprise day.
The entire year group was split into ten teams and their tasks were to buy oil as cheaply as they could and sell it and get as much profit as they could when the price rose. Spotting future trends was also one of the day’s objectives.
The winning team, led by Zachary Newport, 15, was presented with medals and certificates and they also received feedback the organizer, maths teacher Keith Wood-Smith.
Head of maths Geoff Howes said: “This was a successful day and Zach Newport proved to be a highly skilled and enthusiastic trader”.
