Children at Thomas Eaton Primary School in Wimblington celebrated Roald Dahl Day by dressing up as their favourite characters - and getting drawing tips from illustrator Quentin Blake.

Twenty-nine children from Year 3 and 4 took part in the day which saw Oompa Loompas, Willy Wonka, Charlie Bucket and Fantastic Mr. Fox turn up to school for the centenary celebration.

At 2pm the school joined a live link with the Cambridge Theatre in London and watched part of ‘Matilda’ before getting drawing tips from Dahl’s illustrator Quentin Blake.

Class teacher Jo Turner said: “Everyone really enjoyed it.”
