Resurfacing and improvement works are due to start in Station Road, March from Monday.

The Cambridgeshire County Council works will be carried out at night and include providing a new quieter running surface as well as adjusting any loose or low ironwork.

Works will be carried out along Station Road between its junctions with County Road and Broad Street.

Depending on the weather, it is expected the scheme will take around 10 nights to complete.

A council spokesman said: “To ensure the safety of residents and the workforce as well as making sure the scheme is completed as quickly as possibly it will be necessary to close Station Road between 7pm and 2am. Access to properties will be maintained during this closure.

“The council apologises for any disruption these vital works may cause and noise will be kept to a minimum wherever and whenever possible.”

The spokesman said residents are also asked not to park along Station Road during the duration of the works “as this may cause delays”.

A signed diversion route will be in place.
