A FENLAND paint recycling scheme will continue to receive funding from Cambridgeshire County Council.

Cambridgeshire Community Re-use and Recycling Network (CCORRRN) is a social enterprise which collects millions of litres of usable paint which would otherwise be burnt or put in to landfill.

The paint is redistributed for use by charities, community groups, schools and members of the community who need help sprucing up their homes.

North East Cambs MP Steve Barclay, who launched an official partnership with the scheme in 2012, said: “The CCORRN initiative is an excellent example of what can be achieved through recycling, education and collaboration.

“It helps organisations and people to make the most of their facilities and homes and in monetary terms will save on alternative landfill and disposal costs.

“It is great news that the council has agreed to support CCORRN in its socially and environmentally responsible work for our community.”

There are six donation points located around Fenland for those who would like to recycle their usable tins of paint.
