PAUL Wilkinson, Chairman of Cambridgeshire-based Produce World and Essex farmer, has been appointed as a non-executive director of Fengrain, the specialist grain cooperative.

Mr Wilkinson spent some 15 years at RHM plc including six years as executive chairman. Since 2003 he has developed a range of interests in food and fresh produce businesses.

He is chairman of East Anglian-based Produce World; Improve (the sector skills council for food and drink) and the Big Bear Group which manufactures branded goods. His non-executive directorships include: IAWS plc and Thornton's. In addition, he farms in Essex.

Mr Wilkinson said: "Fengrain has a reputation for innovation in the market place. In recent years it has developed a level of expertise and invested in systems that will enable it to capitalise on the many opportunities that are emerging in grain supply chains. I look forward to playing a part in taking this business forward.
