A Chatteris businessman was among a team that pedalled their way to raising more than £1,500 for a cancer charity.

Simon Wicks. director of E1E10 data company, joined a team of six that joined the London to Brighton cycle ride.

They were among 3,000 cyclists who covered the 54 mile route to bring in hundreds of pounds for the bike4cancer charity.

Mr Wicks said: “We trained for three months to take part - we were all pretty unfit beforehand. It was quite hard but a really worthwhile experience.”

The team, who completed the route in five hours, had all been affected by cancer in some way, through relatives or friends suffering, and wanted to do something positive to help.
