STAFF at the Sainsbury store in March used a static cycling machine to pedal their way to the Olympic Park in London while raising around 1,000 for Sport Relief.
Every member of staff helped complete the 89-mile course, and they were rewarded for their efforts with donations from shoppers; and their fund raising total was also boosted by the sale of Sport Relief merchandise in the store.
A fire engine and some of March’s fire fighters arrived at the Mill View supermarket to start the fund raiser; to encourage their colleague Gabe Hearnshaw, who works at the supermarket and is also a retained fire fighter.
Pictured on the cycle, Helen Tagg said: “Everyone really enjoyed this fund raising event, it was great fun.”
