A SEVENTY-five-year-old man in poor health is facing charges of theft and assault, but a hospital appointment prevented him from appearing before Fenland magistrates this week.

Dennis Howlett, of Elwyn Court, March, is accused of stealing a black hi fi system from March Recycling Centre on September 5, and assaulting a man on the same day.

The court adjourned the case until October 12 and gave him conditional bail.
