Christchurch Parish Church flower festival, with 30 floral arrangements on the theme Special Days, raised almost £600. The arrangements represented wedding day, Christening day and sport events.
Other events around the village included a scarecrow competition and an exhibition of village activities in Memorial Hall.
The scarecrow competition was won by Graham and Peggy Warby, with a World Cup football scarecrow in an armchair watching television, complete with glass of beer. The competition was judged by Councillor Mac Cotterell, vice-chairman of the governors of Christchurch School, and his wife Marjorie.
