Children at a Fenland primary school used role play to look at the lives of the Ancient Egyptians when a touring group visited last Thursday.

New Road Primary School, Whittlesey, had a visit from the History Off The Page group, based in Dry Drayton near Cambridge, to wrap up Key Stage Two children's history topic from last term.

Pupils pretended to be Egyptian workers; making pots, embalming a mummy and writing on real papyrus. And a royal banquet was also held for a Pharaoh and his wife, played by two pupils, with fellows serving the food and dancers providing entertainment.

# Our pictures show some of the children taking part in the activities.
