THE Remembrance Day parade in Whittlesey was led by Peterborough Highland Pipe Band.

The parade, including representatives of many local organisations, made its way from the Ivy Leaf Club to the war memorial for a wreath laying ceremony. Parade marshall was Warrant Officer John Bradshaw.

Those marching included representatives of Whittlesey Town Council, the Royal British Legion, Rotary Club, Round Table, Scouts, Guides and Brownies. The wreath laying was led by chairman of Fenland District Council, Councillor Pam Potts. Students from the town's primary schools and Sir Harry Smith Community College laid flowers on the memorial.

The parade then made its way to St Mary's Church for a service of remembrance led by the Rev Nigel Whitehouse.

Later at the Ivy Leaf Club there was a buffet and musical entertainment by Peterborough Concert Band.
