New planters to complement the gas lamps lighting scheme outside of Chatteris Council Chamber have been installed by apprentices.
Stainless Metalcraft Ltd gave the council a choice of designs for the planters and the Mayor Councillor Bill Haggata chose the final design.
It came as apprentices responded to the town council’s request for new planters to brighten up the gas lamps.
Under their community scheme, Metalcraft kindly agreed to donate the materials for the planters and apprentices.
Cameron Smith and Kieran Kirby used their welding and fabrication skills to create the unique pieces of artwork.
The Mayor and councillors were delighted with the finished product and Cllr Haggata thanked Cameron and Kieran and their trainers Mick Wills and Neil Kirby for their skilful work.
Metalcraft manufacture equipment for some of the world’s most hazardous environments.
