Police appeal for witnesses in the wake of Mepal collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision between a motorcycle and a car in Mepal.

The motorcyclist, a 44-year-old man from Witchford, was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries following the collision with a black Range Rover in Chatteris Road, at 2.53pm yesterday (Wednesday).

The road was closed until 6pm while investigations were carried out and the Kawasaki motorbike was recovered.

The driver of the Range Rover, a 53-year-old woman from Wisbech, was not injured.

PC Ian Swales, investigating, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, to call police.”
