POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision near Stretham during Thursday evening’s rush hour.
A 41-year-old man from Yaxley, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries after the Mercedes Sprinter he was driving left the A10 Ely Road and crashed into a tree at 4.50pm on Thursday.
The road was closed until 8.30pm causing long delays in both directions.
PC James Thorne, investigating, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision, or the van prior to it, to call police.”
