A barn was set on fire in Eastrea yesterday.
At 12.45pm, one crew from Stanground and one crew from Thorney were called to a fire in a farm building near Wype Road, Eastrea. The building, measuring 60m by 30m, was heavily smoke logged.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and positive pressure ventilation fans to fight the fire, which was extinguished by 1.30pm.
Crews returned to their stations by 2.45pm.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
