EXTRA police officers were drafted into March to deal with two violent incidents on Sunday.

Police were first called to the Raffles nightclub at the Griffin Hotel at about 12.30am after reports of 30 people being involved in an incident.

And at about 2am, a teenager was glassed in the hand following a fight outside the Chilli-Hut takeaway.

Officers and the police dog unit were called to attend the disturbance in which a 21- old-year man suffered injuries to his face. He was taken to hospital but released later that day.

An 18-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, both from Chatteris, were arrested on suspicion of assault. They are both due to answer bail later this week.

In the second incident, an 18-year-old March man was glassed to his wrist. He was detained in Peterborough District Hospital.

A police spokeswoman said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed these two incidents.

"We would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small to contact the police."

She said the incidents, which happened in High Street, were not being linked.
