THE elderly man who died after his car left the road in Murrow Bank has tonight been named by police.
William Mews, 84, of Murrow Bank, Murrow, was driving a silver Daewoo Kalos when it came off the road close to the junction with Main Road and Parson Drove at about 5pm yesterday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash. Sergeant Nigel Jennings said: “I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicle in the moments leading up to it.”
